TEACHING ON INTIMACY FROM JOHN 17
July 31, 2009
One on the powerful portions of scripture dealing with the believer's intimacy with our creator through Jesus Christ is found in John 17:13-26. This whole chapter is deep in revelation in our intimacy with Christ, but for the sake of time, I am focusing on only the second half of this chapter.
JOHN 17
13 And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves. 14 I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. 15 I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. 16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. 17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. 18 As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. 19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth. 20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for... |

TRUTH THROUGH PRAYER NOT EDUCATION
February 16, 2008
he Spirit of prophecy is the testimony of Jesus Christ. Understanding this opens the door to understanding prophets of the old testament. These verses from Isaiah gives us insight into the ministry of Christ.
Isaiah 50:4-6The Sovereign Lord has given me his words of wisdom, so that I know what to say to all these weary ones. Morning by morning he wakens me and opens my understanding to his will. 5 The Sovereign Lord has spoken to me, and I have listened. I do not rebel or turn away. 6 I give my back to those who beat me and my cheeks to those who pull out my beard. I do not hide from shame, for they mock me and spit in my face.
Verse six is a reference to the how the Romans beat the Lord prior to his crucifixion. The Spirit of Christ spoke through the prophet Isaiah gives us an eye witness account of what was going to transpire centuries later.
In verse four the Lord gives us the source of his words of wisdom,”he Sovereign Lord has given me his words of wisdom,” The Son of God received his words directly from the...

SELF EFFORT
January 9, 2008
The strength of the Church is not in our programs, or our education, or in our talents, but
in the love of our God, and his mercy through the cross of Jesus Christ, our true lives are
in him only.
ISAIAH CHAPTER 30
15For thus said the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel: In returning [to Me] and resting [in
Me] you shall be saved; in quietness and in [trusting] confidence shall be your strength.
But you would not,
In this verse God gave Israel the secret to victory, life ,and salvation.
a:In returning- repentence, turning from our own ways, anything we do apart from God is
defiled by sin, and does not bring life ,but death. There is no salvation with repentence
b:In resting-stop acting in our own efforts, and just let God work with in us, and through
us. The ways of God are the products of his nature and character, the only way to walk in
them is to allow him to live through us. He cannot live through us, if we insist on doing
our own thing. Our own way looks right to us, but it is deadly.
c: The fruit of right doing before...
